Year 10 to HSC English Holiday Workshop

English – Essay and general writing skills

Suitable for Year 11 and 12 students only

ENGLISH
As students leave middle school and enter senior school, they will be expected to understand and utilise a wide range of writing, analysing skills and new terminology.

This 2-half day workshop will take students through the new HSC modules and focus on the new terminology and catch words that are required to be successful in upper secondary, Years 11-12.

Regardless of the level of English – Standard, Advanced, Extension, English studies or EALD, the first module is a common Module that everyone must study: Reading to write. This unit leads students through styles and techniques of literature that sets them up for the remainder of their senior years. Understanding the difference between “Stienese,” ”The theory of Omission,” or ‘Pictureskew,” will definitely give them an advantage when analysing literature.
