Imelda Hutchens
I am a primary school teacher, with
over 45 years of teaching experience. I have taught Years 1 to 6,
in Newcastle, Tamworth and Brisbane. I spent four years teaching English
and History to high school students at St Dominic's Friary, Tamworth High School and Mount
St Margaret's College, Brisbane.
I was Assistant Principal at
Charlestown Catholic Primary School for three years, principal of Wallsend
Catholic Primary School for three years and principal at Charlestown Catholic
Primary School for six years prior to my retirement.
For the past four years, I have been
employed part-time at Arrendell, tutoring in reading and story writing.
Reading has been a life-long interest
and my favorite authors are the Brontes, Jane Austin and contemporary writers,
Catherine Cookson, Maeve Binchy and Rosamund Pitcher.
Art, handicrafts, woodwork and
decoupage have always been a rewarding part of my life.
I share an interest in my children's
teaching careers and enjoy spending happy family time with our grandchildren.
